The tables below have the prefixes for each state's license plates for 1954-55.
The actual number ranges were not specified in the official document.

The type of plate was determined by the colors - refer to the Numbering and Colors page for details.

The number was delimited by dashes for every two digits, as was typical for the all-numeric Mexican plates of the 50's:
For example:     1     11     1-11     11-11     1-11-11     11-11-11

The information comes from the document 'Diario Oficial' published by the government of Mexico.
The issue dated 2 October 1953 contains the license plate specifications.
